General Motors and EVgo intend to add over 2,700 new fast chargers across the U.S. This will triple the public fast charging network’s size and potentially encourage more drivers to make the switch to electric vehicles.
Both cities and suburbs will receive the new fast charging stations. This will make it easier for drivers to charge their EVs, especially people who rent their homes or live in multi-unit homes since they cannot install their own chargers. Grocery stores, entertainment centers, retail stores and other busy areas will gain many of the new fast charging stations. As such, you will be able to charge your car while accomplishing other tasks.
With easier access to the stations, more drivers may choose an EV for their next car. EVgo already has over 800 stations nationwide, and the new stations make owning an EV even more convenient. New stations will begin to be added early in 2021. They will be able to accommodate a minimum of four vehicles at the same time and can charge a variety of EVs, including the more powerful models set to hit the market in the near future.
